What is the truth behind the mysteries of our inheritance? What wondrous thoughts inspired the architects of the Great Pyramid of Cheops at El Giza, and what was the reason behind the bizarre carvings in the desert of Nazca? Are they the work of clever earthlings, perhaps a race more advanced than us who were for some reason wiped out – or could they even be the work of visitors from outer space?

Perhaps they were built to leave a message for future generations, or they could simply be stone monuments and artworks holding no secrets at all. Man’s thirst for knowledge about his origins and the wider universe has led him to speculate about messages hidden inside these ancient artefacts. Could they really be part of a mysterious code? For centuries theories have abounded as scientists and explorers have tried to find the answers.
Maria Reiche believed the carvings at Nasca, such as the hummingbird and spider monkey, are representative of star constellations in some galaxy, similar to the Plough and the Great Bear in our own galaxy. Drawings of such constellations carved into the desert rock would stand the test of time and could tell future generations that some time in the past aliens had visited Earth and left behind a message telling us where they had travelled form. Or could these visitors even be the source of life on this planet? Are the drawings telling us about our own origins?

Writers such as Eric von Danike and Graham Hancock have fuelled the ancient technology debate. Von Daniken believed that the gods of ancient literature were actually extra terrestrials that had visited Earth, whereas Hancock believed in an ancient and highly advanced civilisation before the development of the written word. He claims this civilisation was the common ancestor to all subsequent recorded cultures such as the Egyptians and the Mayans. He maintains that evidence of this civilisation is to be found in the legends of the Egyptians and their description of godmen like Osiris and Thoth as well as the Mayan’s legendary description of Quetzalcoatl. Towards the end of the last ice age this civilisation was supposedly wiped out in a major pole shift. However, a few survivors passed on to future generations remnants of ancient knowledge such as architecture, mathematics and astronomy and Hancock claims that the three pyramids actually form a terrestrial map of Orion’s belt.
As yesterday’s magic is often tomorrow’s science could the ancient priests of Egypt have possessed a secret knowledge passed down to them from their gods? Heka, or Egyptian magic, was essential to their culture – from healing to treachery it was revered throughout the land. However, the priests who guarded its secrets almost exclusively practised it. This ancient knowledge was kept in books in the temple libraries and believed to protect the king, heal the sick, fend off venomous snakes, make it rain, and even roll back the waters of a lake.
Some people suggest that Moses may have been able to learn how to tap into this “knowledge of magic”, while he was brought up in Pharoah’s court by Pharoah’s daughter, and it was this that enabled him to perform many of the miracles recorded in the Bible. In fact Knight’s Templar claim that the Ark of the Covenant was a device built by Moses from gold and quartz which used vibration energy to perform miracles such as the parting of the Red Sea.
The building of the pyramids undoubtedly required a knowledge of mathematical architecture and ancient Egyptians may well have had a knowledge of electricity, as suggested by the finding of the “Baghdad Batteries”, and of music and sound waves, as suggested by ancient carvings. The Great Pyramid at Giza is claimed to have excellent acoustic properties, especially around the King’s chamber, and an ancient Egyptian statue of Isis and Anubis also appears to show the symbols of two tuning forks attached by strings. Quartz was readily available at the time and is believed in magic to be a powerfully psychic stone, enhancing energy by amplifying and transmitting, and beneficial for healing and meditation. Ancient Japanese believed quartz was formed from the breath of the white dragon and regarded it as perfection, while Australian Aborigines used it in rain rituals. It is also piezoelectric and it is this property of quartz that may be used to demystify the macabre legends of glowing crystal skulls. If two quartz rocks are rubbed together they may glow. One theory for this is that electrons within the quartz are moved out of their orbits and when they return to their equilibrium state energy is released as light. Another is that the mechanical stress of rubbing creates piezoelectricity. Electrons flow within the trapped crystal producing an electric current, which ionises gases trapped within the quartz producing a glow in the same way that a current flowing between ground and clouds in a thunderstorm produces a lightening bolt. But could an ancient civilisation really have understood this process and does it have further implications for ancient technology?
It is improbable that any combination of simple technology generally believed to be possible at the time, such as the Ark as a large charged Laden jar, made from wood and gold, and huge tuning forks, tied by a string, vibrating at earthquake frequency, could produce the sheer amount of energy required to have the effects described in the miracles of the old testament. The only source of power known to the human race that could accomplish this is nuclear fusion, or was it an unknown source of power – an act of God?

Scientists have dreamt for years of a clean source of power and have recently looked to our sun for the answer. Inside the sun, hydrogen nuclei having one proton, fuses to form helium nuclei having two protons. At the same time a small amount of mass is converted into energy according to Einstein’s equation. This process is an example of nuclear fusion, which occurs whenever two atomic nuclei are combined to form one new nucleus with the release of energy. This energy then causes more nuclei to fuse releasing more energy in a self-perpetuating reaction.
Deep inside the sun’s core the huge temperatures and pressures cause nuclei to move rapidly and keep close enough for a reaction to take place. Since all atomic nuclei carry a positive charge they repel each other and the closer the nuclei are together the greater is the force of repulsion. However, inside the atomic nucleus is a very strong attractive force. To overcome the repulsive force nuclei are required to collide at great speeds to force them close enough together for the strong attractive nuclear force to be sufficiently strong to achieve fusion. These huge temperatures and pressures have proved very difficult to replicate on Earth.
Some scientists’ hopes and dreams are pinned on sonoluminescence. This occurs when sound waves are passed through small bubbles of gas dissolved in a liquid making them first expand and then contract. The collapse of the bubbles is so violent that molecules of gas trapped inside the bubbles slam into each other at great speeds. This causes them to heat up and the thermal energy released is so great that it can be given off in the form of light, just like a little star. The temperature of the surface of the bubble is tens of thousands of degrees, but inside the bubble it could be even greater. Were it to reach 100 million k, it could be hot enough to cause fusion. The process is analogous to stretching a slingshot from the Earth to the sun thereby building up a huge amount of energy, which is released when the bubbles implode. The temperature inside the collapsing bubble depends greatly on the minimum size reached. The radius of the bubble at the point of sonoluminescence is usually around. However, if it were to reach 10nm (just 10 times smaller) and the gas inside were deuterium, fusion could be ignited.
Researchers have exposed canisters of liquid deuterated acetone to pulses of neutrons causing cavities to form. At the same time the liquid is bombarded with ultrasound causing bubbles to form in the cavities. These bubbles expand building up a huge amount of energy, which is released when they implode. The idea is to allow deuterium atoms to fuse together releasing neutrons and energy. Unfortunately nobody has yet succeeded, but could an ancient technologically advanced race have known the answer?

Scientists are continually looking for significant mathematical ratios associated with the design of the pyramids. It is claimed that the base of the largest pyramid is closely aligned with the directions N, S, E and W and also the Earth’s magnetic field. Finding the mathematical ratio used in the design of the Great Pyramid is a difficult task because most of its outer masonry including the peak is missing. Debate has lead to two ratios Pi, and Phi. Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter and it is claimed that the ratio of twice the length of a base side to the perpendicular height is equal to pi or approximately 3.1417. Phi () the golden ratio, which is found in nature and praised by artists, is the such that the ratio between two lengths (greater : smaller), is the same as the ratio of the sum of both to the greater. Phi is approximately 1.6180. It is claimed the ratio of the perpendicular height of the pyramid to half a side of the base.
William Kasparis’s research designed a pyramid built such that the mathematical ratio of the perpendicular height of one triangular face to half its base length is 1.6171, and hence its base angle was. This was very close to the measurement obtained for Pi and Phi ratio pyramids. He found a pyramid of these dimensions places the focal point at about a third of the way up (position of the King’s chamber), whereas the other two ratios place the focal point actually outside the pyramid. According to his research, if a watch containing an oscillating quartz crystal is placed at the focal point inside such a pyramid, correctly aligned with magnetic North, the pyramid can then act as an amplifying device and increase the effect of the oscillations. I don’t know if there is any truth in this, but if so, could the same focal point amplify the effects of sonoluminscence?
It would be an interesting project to build a quartz pyramid of the correct dimensions, align it with magnetic North, and then set up a sonoluminescence device with quartz piezotransducers. During single bubble sonoluminescence a pair of transducers are used to create ultrasound, which causes the expansion and contraction of the bubble, which oscillates between its maximum and minimum radius. If the bubble is formed at the focal point of the pyramid this could perhaps amplify the slingshot effect and shrink the minimum radius beneath the fusion threshold. Interestingly three pairs of transducers arranged symmetrically around the edge of a circle will be at the points of a “Star of David”, and four pairs of transducers placed symmetrically on the surface of a sphere are at the points of a Stella Octagonal type shape. This is better known as a “Merkaba”, which is a design revered in ancient wisdom. If anyone tries this let me know!

Scientists also dream of interplanetary travel, but currently spacecraft fuel capacity and speed is prohibitive. So what mind-boggling solution have scientists come up with? The leading contender is the fusion pulsejet. It is claimed that 1 kg of fusion fuel produces a million times the amount of energy produced by 1 kg of petroleum, and the time taken for a fusion-fueled rocket journey would be 1/10th of that of a petroleum-fuelled rocket. Scientists imagine strapping a large reactor to the back of a rocket. Electrical and magnetic currents would be used to compress hydrogen gas either similar to how the piston of a car compresses fuel and gas in its engine or by compressing plasma through a spiral shell type magnetic field. This compression would cause temperatures to rise to millions of degrees k. This is hot enough for hydrogen atoms to lose their electrons and create a plasma (a hot ionised material consisting of nuclei and electrons) and fuse together pairs of hydrogen nuclei. But fusion also causes the release of energy. This keeps the plasma fuel hot which allows more hydrogen to fuse and more energy to be released. These reactions occur in pulses, about 10 times a second, hence the name pulsed fusion. A nozzle in the reactor allows some of the plasma to escape from the back of the rocket. Jet propulsion is produced from the thrust of this ejected matter so that by conservation of momentum the rocket is propelled forwards. Since the velocity of the ejection of the plasma would be extremely high only a small amount of mass is lost at a time.
It may even be possible to collect the fuel from space as the rocket travels through. This avoids the need to carry large amounts of fuel onboard. This would require an electromagnetic conical scoop many kilometres in diameter at the front of the rocket collecting and compressing space plasma until thermonuclear fusion occurs.
This leads us on to the most commonly believed form of alien transport – the flying saucer?
Victor Schauberger produced the first real prototype of the flying saucer. However, his only working model was reputedly destroyed in Germany during the war. According to Alick Bartholomew in his book Hidden Nature scientists think Schauberger’s design worked on the following principle – first air is drawn into the “centripulser’s” rilled plates due to its high speed of rotation and is subjected to powerful centrifugal and oscillating forces, which cool and condense it. (Usually compressing heats up?) The air then condenses into water causing a vacuum, which then accelerates the intake of more air. At extremely high rates of revolution vacuum and densification become extreme, compacting the molecules so tightly that it has a levitational effect. This is a bit like the suction effect caused by transpiration drawing water up tree trunks. Schauberger claimed of his technology, “Implosion is no invention in the conventional sense, but rather the renaissance of ancient knowledge lost over the course of time”.
More recently researchers using supercomputers, to simulate collisions among particles zipping near the speed of light have shown that black holes could form at lower energies than previously thought. Einstein’s theory explains that mass curves space-time, thus generating gravity. As particles are accelerated along particle colliders they warp space-time and can focus energy much the same as glass lenses focus light. When they collide they can focus each other’s energy and it is theorised they might even form miniature black holes.
So what if an alien flying saucer, based on the same principal as Schauberger’s prototype, used spin and electrical and magnetic fields to accelerate and compress plasma from space, instead of air? Fusion pulses could be fired from underneath the saucer at its perimeter. Meanwhile a black hole type effect could suck in a giant plasma vortex at the front. Could it then warp and travel through space-time? With current technology this could be a long way off, with ancient technology who knows, and with vivid imagination it’s definitely possible.
